I have received an email from Stanlow Essar advising me that they are regrettably having to withdraw from the Chester & District Midweek Cricket League. In the circumstances rule B14 will apply for relegation purposes.
This would normally have resulted in you having no cricket for two weeks during the season, but I am pleased to advise you that Frodsham CC, have kindly offered to take on the fixtures for the remainder of the season. Frodsham applied to re-join the League this season and were disappointed when their application was unsuccessful. This was purely because Frodsham’s application was the last one received and there were five applications for just four places. The club immediately confirmed its application for the 2017 season.
Please note that the result of fixtures involving Frodsham will have no impact on the League positions; the games will be played on a friendly basis, but normal League rules will apply. However, I would be grateful if the away team would still text the result to Gerry so that he can include it in his weekly round-up. There is no need to complete a result sheet.
Here are the contact details for Frodsham Cricket Club, please note that the club’s home night is a Wednesday.
Ground Address – Frodsham CC, Moor Lane, Frodsham. WA6 7AE (at the bottom of the lane next to the NatWest Bank)
